The Foundation's William P. Sherman Library and Archives is located in the USDA Forest Service's Lewis and Clark National Historic Trail Interpretive Center in Great Falls, Montana. The Sherman Library and Archives is one of the premier repositories for the study of the Lewis and Clark Expedition and related history. The Library and Archives is open to all researchers. Please call the Foundation office to make an appointment to visit. |

We offer several research services to the public. For questions about Lewis and Clark, the tribes they met or related topics, use our Ask A Question form. Because of the high number of inquiries that we receive, please note that it may take several days for us to respond. The Foundation's Library and Archives assists nationally known authors, reporters, photographers, teachers, students, property owners, interpreters of the story and many others. Use the navigation at the left to explore our collections.
*Paid admission to the USDA Forest Service Lewis and Clark National Historic Trail Interpretive Center is not required to use the Sherman Library and Archives. We require two forms of identification to use the library and ask researchers to complete and sign a use agreement prior to using the Library and Archives.
