Since 1969, we have shared the incredible story of the Lewis and Clark Expedition and preserved the route of the Corps of Discovery from Monticello, West Virginia to Ft. Clatsop, Oregon.

Through our member chapters, we organize projects and events and assist the National Park Service in carrying out their mission of protection, use, and enjoyment of the Lewis and Clark National Historic Trail.

We invite you to join us, have fun on your own voyage of discovery, and learn more about the expedition and their journey!

The object of your mission is to explore the Missouri River, and such principal streams of it, as, by its course and communication with the waters of the Pacific Ocean, whether the Columbia, Oregon, Colorado, or any other river, may offer the most direct and practicable water-communication across the continent, for the purposes of commerce.
